FUTURE EVENTS WILL BE PUBLISHED HERE AND ON FACEBOOK
My name is Adrian Murray and I have been practicing Tai Chi and the like since 1978. I have been a keen attendee of Serge Dreyer’s ‘Rencontres Jasnières’ pushing hands event and I have felt the lack of a similar event in the UK.
Seeing that no one else had taken up the task, I determined to do it myself! I ran Pushing Hands UK annually on the August bank holiday weekend until 2015.
We had the pleasure of workshops delivered by Serge Dryer, Laura Stone, Andrew Heckert, Daan Hengst, Ronnie Robinson & Scott Chaplowe.
I am interested in Pushing Hands UK being nonpartisan and attractive to all interested in pushing hands, so rather than being ‘my’ event I see myself as the ‘host’ for the event. Each year we are joined by experienced players who generously share their knowledge and experience with the group in structured workshops and in the pushing hands sessions.
The event has been staged at The University of Worcester is a good nationally accessible venue close to major road networks and transport. We start on Saturday at 2pm and end in the afternoon of Monday at 4pm (hopefully avoiding the horrors of bank holiday travel).

Example teacher profileAndrew Heckert My understanding of Dr. Tao’s “not by force” push-hands I have pursued the Grail of pushing hands without force for forty years. The expession, "not by force" is from Tao Ping-siang, classmate of William Chen and Ben Lo, student of Cheng Man-ching. He realised that ideal better than any one else I encountered. Many people talk about being soft and yeilding. Few can answer the question "How?". I understand Tao's method well enough to suggest how he did it, and to do a little of it myself.
